Her Icelandic second name is Finnbogadottir (daughter of Finnbogi). She trained as an opera singer in Iceland, Italy and the Royal Academy of Music in London and has sung and taught singing in the UK for years. Fergus was a schoolmaster, teaching English literature and drama at several independent schools in the UK and abroad before becoming a headmaster. Our children for most of their lives were schooled in England. We always loved Iceland and holidayed here every year. The pull became so strong that one year we decided to come and not go home. Now we share our knowledge of and love for the place with people who choose to visit.
